Jen Williams
I was born on the vibrant Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, where sisterhood, rhythm and community are built into everyday life.
The kitchen was the dancefloor, our elders were our instructors and the vecinas our cheerleaders.
Sisterhood wasn’t something you had to find, it was there naturally. You were born into it.
When I relocated to Waltham as a young adult, it was all gone for me! There were no more random cafecito with empanadas at 5pm.
Years later, I joined a dance fitness class and it was the only space that gave me that familiar feeling where music and movement brought people together like family.
In 2009, I became a licensed instructor and have been teaching ever since.
